Region Code |
|
| |
|
| The Region Code system, a required part of the
current DVD standards, was designed to manage the demand and
sales of DVD titles in each region, protect the film industry
and thwart unauthorized duplication and illegal distribution
of DVD drives. Manufacturers of DVD discs and players are required
to specify the Region Code of their products. In other words,
discs manufactured in one region are meant to play only on the
players that were manufactured in the same region. However,
illegal code-free modification service is provided by
some retailers. |
